Anna tactics.. Enough today?...

The choice before Krishna is between lesser evil and greater evil. It is not a simple choice between good and evil. The fighting tactics which Krishna uses are nothing compared to those used in the war of Mahabharat by the other side, who are capable of doing anything. The Kauravas are no ordinary evil-doers – they are extraordinarily evil. Gandhi would be no match for them; they could crush him in moments. Ordinary good cannot defeat an evil that is colossal. Gandhi would know what it is to fight with a colossus of evil if he had fought against a government run by Adolph Hitler. Fortunately for him, India was ruled by a very liberal community – the British – not by Hitler. Even among the British – if Churchill had been in power and Gandhi had to deal with him, it would have been very difficult to win India’s independence. The coming of Atlee into power in Britain after the war made a big difference.

The question of right means, which Gandhi talks about so much, deserves careful consideration. It is fine to say that right ends cannot be achieved without right means. However, in this world, there is nothing like an absolutely right end or absolutely right means. It is not a question of right versus wrong; it is always a question of greater wrong versus lesser wrong. There is no one who is completely healthy or completely sick; it is always a matter of being more sick or less sick.

Life does not consist of two distinct colors – white and black, life is just gray, a mixture of white and black. In this context men like Gandhi are just utopians. dreamers, idealists who are completely divorced from reality. Krishna is in direct contact with life; he is not a utopian. For him life’s work begins with accepting it as it is.

What Gandhi calls ”pure means” are not re ally pure, cannot be. Maybe pure ends and pure means are available in what the Hindus call moksha, or the space of freedom. But in this mundane world every, thing is alloyed with dirt. Not even gold is unalloyed. What we call diamond is nothing but old, aged coal. Gandhi’s purity of ends and means is sheer imagination.

For example, Gandhi thinks fasting is a kind of right means to a right end. And he resorts to fasting – fast unto death every now and then. But I can never accept fasting as a right means, nor will Krishna agree with Gandhi. If a threat to kill another person is wrong, how can a threat to kill oneself be right? If it is wrong of me to make you accept what I say by pointing a gun at you, how can it become right if I make you accept the same thing by turning the gun to point it at myself? A wrong does not cease to be a wrong just by turning the point of a gun. In a sense it would be a greater wrong on my part if I ask you to accept my views with the threat that if you don’t I am going to kill myself. If I threaten to kill you, you have an option, a moral opportunity to die and refuse to yield to my pressure. But if I threaten to kill myself, I make you very helpless, because you may not like to take the responsibility of my death on yourself.

Gandhi once undertook such a fast unto death to put pressure on Ambedkar, leader of the millions of India’s untouchables. And Ambedkar had to yield, not because he agreed that the cause for which Gandhi fasted was right, but because he did not want to let Gandhi die for it. Ambedkar was not ready to do even this much violence to Gandhi. Ambedkar said later that Gandhi would be wrong to think that he had changed his heart. He still believed he was right and Gandhi was wrong, but he was not prepared to take the responsibility for the violence that Gandhi was insisting on doing to himself.

In this context it is necessary to ask if Ambedkar used the right means, or Gandhi? Of the two, who is really non-violent? In my view Gandhi’s way was utterly violent, and Ambedkar proved to he non-violent. Gandhi was determined till the last moment to pressure Ambedkar with his threat to kill himself.

It makes no difference whether I threaten to kill you or to kill myself to make you accept my view. In either case, I am using pressure and violence. In fact, when I threaten to kill you I give you a choice to die with dignity, to tell me you would rather die than yield to my view which is wrong. But when I threaten you with my own death, then I deprive you of the option to die with dignity; I put you in a real dilemma. Either you have to yield and accept that you are in the wrong, or you take the responsibility of my death on you. You are going to suffer guilt in every way.

In spite of his insistence on right means for right ends, the means that Gandhi himself uses are never right. And I am bold enough to say that whatever Krishna did was right. In a relative sense, taking his opponents into consideration, Krishna could not have done otherwise.

Many of us think miracle never happens. Everything is up to us. Many of us are agnostic. It is a story dedicated to them. It’s the story of the Andes Survivors; popularized by the book “Alive” and the 1993 film of the same name.

Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, also known as the Miracle in the Andes, was a chartered flight carrying 45 people, including a rugby team and their friends, family and associates that crashed in the Andes on October 13, 1972. The last of the 16 survivors were rescued on December 23, 1972On Friday the 13th of October, 1972, a Uruguayan Air Force twin turboprop Fairchild FH-227D was flying over the Andes carrying members of the Old Christians Club rugby union team from Montevideo, Uruguay, to play a match in Santiago, Chile.

Due to bad weather and limitations of the airplane, the flight could not fly over the Andes Mountains and instead had to proceed through one of the “passes” through the mountains, to reach Chile. The pilots misjudged their position and, thinking they were at the pass, flew instead into a mountain, leading to a controlled flight into terrain. But the plane did not smash head long into the mountain. In a last ditch effort to gain altitude and clear the top of the mountain, the pilots clipped the peak at 4,200 meters (13,800 ft), neatly severing the right wing, which was thrown back with such force that it cut off the tail, leaving a gaping hole in the rear of the fuselage. The plane then clipped a second peak, which severed the left wing and left the plane as just a fuselage flying through the air. The fuselage hit the ground and slid down a steep mountain slope before finally coming to rest in a snow bank.

Of the 45 people on the plane, 12 died in the crash or shortly thereafter; another five had died by the next morning, and one more succumbed to injuries on the eighth day. The remaining 27 faced severe difficulties in surviving high in the freezing mountains. The survivors had little food and no source of heat in the harsh conditions, at over 3,600 meters (11,800 ft) altitude. Faced with starvation and radio news reports that the search for them had been abandoned, the survivors fed on the dead passengers who had been preserved in the snow. Rescuers did not learn of the survivors until 72 days after the crash, when passengers Nando Parrado and Roberto Canessa, after a 12-day trek across the Andes, found a Chilean huaso, who gave them food and then alerted authorities about the existence of the other survivors. Only sixteen would survive. Their survival in the high mountains of the Andes and final rescue just before Christmas 1972 would become known as The Miracle in the Andes.

Who will Cry when you Die...

The day before yesterday, we enjoyed the engineer’s day. It was an amazing day. I was at cyber for receiving the printouts of the photos, I was negotiating with the cybercafé owner and all of a sudden I noticed a slogan “Satisfaction is the greatest happiness”. When he was printing the photos my brain was in the journey of this slogan. I was thinking about the fruitfulness of this slogan.

I actually wasn’t akin to this slogan. I used to think that when we get contented our growth comes to a halt. If I am satisfied with my completion of B.Tech and think that nothing is remaining in my life, I will stop budding. To be satisfied is the way to the failure. The people who don’t want to grow in their life will start telling that I am satisfied for what I have done. No one in the world will say that I don’t want to go ahead in life. If Dhirubhai Ambani had been contented from his first company, do you think Reliance would have been such a big empire..!!!

Just want to say that don’t be satisfied. Your hunger for excellence will make you success in your life not your contentment from something. Ya on the other way round, Be happy for what you have got after a great effort. Enjoy what you have got. Be happy for that. But don’t feel contented.

MOSSAD of ISRAEL...

blacklies

Actually I didn’t know anything about the country Israel. After reading the book “Who will Cry when you Die”, I wanted to read books by Robin Sharma only, but I was not having books written by him, so I took a Guajarati book named “MOSAD”. You won’t believe but I paid just 10 rupee for this book. It’s a book by Nagendra Vijay – Editor of the magazine “Safari”.

The book starts with the foundation of Israel. It’s really an amazing preparatory. In 1900BC the Jews leader ‘Mozis’ led his Jew troop to Palestine as they were beleaguered by the other European countries. The Palestine was a desert type of area at that time. The Jews made that place worth living, but after some years the foreigners like Arabs seized that place from the Jews. Again the Jews were devoid of their native place. The Jews started living in different places all over the world (about in 148 countries), harassed everywhere except in India. In the starting of 1914 Palestine was ruled by the Turks, who were beaten by the British in the First World War. So after war Britain’s External Affair Minister ‘Arther Balfer’ told the Jews to breathe at their bona fide place. Why he told that is also given in this book. It’s a long story. But the Jews faced many problems for getting their nation. They had to struggle with Arabian countries for around 30 years and finally on 14th may 1948 they got sovereignty.

Again after independence the problems for the Jews did not dwindle. It was obvious for the country surrounded by seven Arabian realms. For combating and existing in the midst of these sly Arabian countries they brought into being… three spy agencies
1) MOSSAD
2) SHIN BETT
3) A’MAAN

After this basic platform of foundation of Israel, Nagendra illustrates 5 operations which were successfully completed by MOSSAD which are :
1) Operation Thief
2) Operation Attila
3) The six day War
4) Operation Thunderbolt
5) Operation Opera

The fight against the terror of Black September is narrated in the last chapter. It’s truly incredible. MOSSAD successfully completed all of this missions. No words for these amazing works done by MOSSAD. If you find some material for any of the above missions or their may some movies made over that subject matter. You must read or watch that.

Review

Hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend and holidays last week. Actually I was planning for roaming around in Pune but due to a very awful climate, was at home the whole day. After getting up at 9 I start blaming rain for spoiling my day.Who will cry when you die

After being bore for some time I started reading the book named “Who will Cry when you Die” just for passing the time. But read it leaving other works and finished it in a stroke. Truly it’s an amazing book.

The book is actually the summery or rather we can say the moral from the book “The Monk who sold his Ferrari”. There are 101 lessons and almost all of them should be implemented to our life.

One of the moral from the book is “Keep your mind cool and calm”. In that chapter Robin has given the solution how one can remain cool in some critical situation. When you feel so much angry, when someone irritates you highly and it crosses your temper limit.., just start counting from one to hundred. In this way you will divert yourself in some another side and that will help you to lessen your anger. Moreover when you feel angry from somebody’s behavior and want to say something for that, ask three questions to yourself

1) The words you are uttering are correct?
2) Is it obligatory for you to articulate that words?
3) The words that you are using are eminence words or not?
Thus in this way you can shrink your anger. And as we all know “The things are not as much awful as you consider”.

Another one I liked the most is “Stop complaining”. We always don’t accept the situations and start blaming on others. The final blame goes to god. But Robin says always think that the situation is because of you and you have to come out from that situation. So don’t waste your time in blaming but utilize it in finding the solution.

Make friends and be socialized” is another thing to be accepted by everyone. This will make your life very easy. “Read Books”, “Give time to your family members”, “Learn to say ‘NO’”, “Live complete life” are another very interesting solutions to live good life, to feel other cry when you die.

I suggest you all to read this book. Read it, it’s incredible.
